Karen Segura, Sign Biz
Communications Manager and graphic designer, demonstrates an eye for
color and design that is extraordinary. She oversees all components that
make up the Sign Biz marketing collateral for new store owners. 
This
includes yellow page ad design and management, logo development,
postcard design elements and fulfillment, promotional literature, and
graphics. Karen is cited by our sign store owners as
"client-centered," "talented" and "very
attentive."
"Graphic
design work has always been at the heart of my career path,"
explained Karen. "In academic environments, I gained proficiency in
software applications, but over the past five years in the visual
communications industry, these skills gained new meaning for me.
Building the visual identity for a new sign company is the most
rewarding experience I can imagine. It is a privilege to work with these
entrepreneurs and fashion their vision for them."
For each new Sign Biz store
owner, the Sign Biz graphics department creates the business logo,
allowing each entrepreneur to choose elements that blend harmoniously
with his or her own "vision" of the new company. Once a logo
is been designed, it becomes an important element in the design of
yellow page ads, letterhead, business cards, envelopes, fax cover
documents, and store graphics. This service is provided at no additional
charge to new Network Members. All cohesive, professional camera-ready
art is presented in a complete Corporate Identity Manual and on CD.
Karen's background includes
front-line experience in a digital sign and graphics company prior to
joining Sign Biz, Inc. This makes her a valuable resource for all
Network Members who call upon her expertise in workflow systems, quality
control issues, and software support. She is patient, logical and
exercises a gentle approach during new store owner orientation, and
during phone consultations. Karen has mastered numerous
industry-related software programs, including FlexiSign PRO and Corel Draw,
among others, as she has designed and manufactured signs for both printing and plotting
devices.
In
her role as Communications Manager, she works with Michael Steele,
Director of Technical Services, and Michael Barnes, Sign Technology
Instructor, to support the scheduling, communication, and design
activities of the company.
