How toPrevent a Program from Automatically Starting When Windows Starts

You can minimize all your open windows at once by right clicking on the taskbar and click on the minimize all option or you can Edit your Start Menu. You can fully customize your start menu - don't bother with the Taskbar Settings, though. Open the Windows Explorer, and open the Start Menu folder under your Windows directory. All the files and folders inside the Start Menu folder are mirrored in the actual Start Menu. You can drag-drop program icons into the start menu folder, just as easily as making new folders by using the right mouse button. Top

We provide the network router, the schemata for layout, complete networking guidance, and we set up your computers and printers with appropriate configuration, before you ever open the box. Top

You are finishing up a letter in word and you want to save it. You quickly tell word to save the document and you use the default name. When you come back to the office and open word, it is the same file you were working on! You don't want that so you close it and open a new blank page. The next time you open word you get same file again! Help!

It is actually easier to fix this than you might think. Here's the fix.
1. Make sure that you can see hidden and protected files by going to Windows Explorer by going to START/PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES and click on Windows Explorer.
2. In Windows Explorer Click on TOOLS/FOLDER OPTIONS.
3. You now have a window open called FOLDER OPTIONS on the Titlebar at the top.
4. Click on the VIEW tab. In the View tab you have a frame called Advanced settings. Inside the Advanced setting frame find the Hidden files and folders option. Make sure Show hidden files and folders are selected. If not. select it and click on the APPLY button and then click on the OK button out of the all windows that were opened.

Next we want to do a search for a file called normal.dot. Do this by going to
1. START/SEARCH/ and clicking on FOR FILES or FOLDERS.
2. In the "Search for files or folders named" box, type in normal.dot
3. In the "Look in" box pulldown menu select "My Computer."
4. Make a note of where your normal.dot file was found. For example mine was found in C:\Documents and Settings\Michael Steele\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates. Yours may be somewhat different. Duplicate these steps on another computer that has Word installed and copy the normal.dot file to a floppy disk or save it in a network location that is accessible from both computers. (Make sure this normal.dot is what you want your default page to look like. If not find another computer with one you like.)

Next copy the normal.dot file from the floppy disk or network location that you saved from the other computer to the location on your system. For example mine was in C:\Documents and Settings\Michael Steele\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates. Yours may be somewhat different. It will ask you if you want to overwrite/replace the file. Select "yes." You're done! You could also use this to setup a default template with a letterhead for all the computers in your office if you so desired. The possibilities are endless!!! Top

Maintenance. Windows comes with two maintenance utilities, Scandisk and Disk Defragmenter. Scandisk is used to find and correct many types of errors on your hard disk, and Disk Defragmenter is used to "optimize" your files (rearrange them so they aren't broken up). Using each of these on a regular basis (such as once a week) will not only improve performance, but will decrease the likelihood of a disk crash or other loss of important data.

We also recommend a utility download that allows us to review your computer's configuration, all hardware and drivers, for diagnostics. Call our Tech Support staff for more information about this hardware advisor service. Top

When installed on a Local Area Network, WinProxy acts as the network's intelligent Internet "gateway" by optimizing the management and routing of all Internet traffic through a single TCP/IP connection. This provides the user with four principal advantages:
1) Simultaneous Internet access for Multiple users through a single Internet connection. This capability allows the user to eliminate the complexity and expense of maintaining multiple phone lines, modems, and user accounts for each individual connection under conventional schemes.
2) Establishment of a secure firewall. Properly installed, WinProxy prevents unauthorized access from the Internet to resources located on the Local Area Network.
3) Optimized Internet connection By providing DNS and HTTP caching, access time to frequently visited sites is dramatically reduced, even though a single physical connection is shared throughout the network.
4) A managed Internet environment.  Through features such as site blacklisting, activity logging, time of day access, and services authorization, Internet usage may be enabled and monitored on an individual and/or site basis.

2. Right-click the program shortcut, and then click Delete.
