"At
first glance, the firm appears to be a well-organized franchising
operation."
Irvine World News
Education
Sign Biz
Network Members are trained by the industry
leader in computer-aided signmaking, and operate the
most sophisticated hardware and software package
today. Each business owner receives personalized (not
classroom) instruction and is awarded a Certificate
of Sign Arts upon completion of Advanced Sign
Studies.
Before any marketing plan can be developed, research
must provide the basic guidelines: for whom you are
designing your product or service (market
segmentation), and exactly what that product or
service should mean to those in the marketplace
(market positioning). The proprietary Sign Biz
Marketing Plan is founded on actual third-party
research at a cost of more than $100,000, the results
of which are the intellectual property of the Sign
Biz corporation. This industry benchmark study pinpoints
market segmentation and market positioning.
Sign
Biz Business Education Center
Sign Biz uses its proprietary
research to teach business owners how to effectively
promote to potential customers, using the three most
effective direct marketing methods for business- to-
business sales. Further to this, other "sales
tools" are provided, including: Direct mail
pieces and follow-up telemarketing scripts,
proprietary video marketing program, quarterly
newsletter announcing latest trends in the industry,
and more.
The marketing
curriculum is designed to develop managerial competency in 8 key sales tactics
that comprise the marketing strategy; develop the
business owner's competency and understanding of
emerging technologies relevant to the demands of
today's marketing environment; help owners develop an
understanding of business environments and interdependent relationships between marketing and
other business functional areas within their
organization; and provide Sign Biz entrepreneurs with
a clear competitive advantage based on skills,
knowledge and decision processes that can set them,
and their company, apart.
Training
Program: The curriculum consists of two weeks of home
instruction, plus 40 hours of formal instruction at
the Sign Biz Technical Training Center in Dana Point, California, and 40 hours of on-the-job training at
Sign Biz store locations.
The
Sign Biz Technical Training Center offers instruction
for both the vinyl and digital print industries and
is equipped with both the HP Designjet Printers, Encad printers,
as well as world famous Graphtec & Mimaki
cutters and plotters, and Roland and Mutoh solvent printers.
The Formal Training
Program:
During the first of two weeks spent in California, you will develop powerful and profitable
marketing strategies and complete marketing calendar
tailored to your operation; gain proficiency in
business systems and legal requirements, master
pricing formulas and the automated Point of Sale
Software, and with your first employee master the
latest techniques and software for producing
beautiful and profitable signs.
Since 1989, the Sign Biz
Formal Training Program has helped hundreds of
business owners gain that advantage. The Marketing
Program component broadens allows Sign Biz Network
Members to avoid costly advertising mistakes, and
changes the way they think about their business
growth.
The second week is
spent in high-volume Sign Biz stores, effectively
eliminating "new business jitters" and
allowing you and your graphic artist to practice what
was learned.
Because of all its features,
the Formal Training program is necessarily somewhat
complex. That is why we prepare each new store owner
with a comprehensive Home Study course prior to
attending the Formal Training program. Home Study
will require from one to two weeks to complete,
depending on other demands on your time.
With more than 17 copyrighted manuals,
everything is fully documented. This means you do
not have to grasp everything all at once.
Continuing
Education:
In addition, each year, Sign Biz hosts three
different, comprehensive symposiums -- two Regional
Conferences (one each, East and West coast), and a
two-day National Convention, at a different exciting
location each year. The most recent Regional
Conference took place this October in Louisville, KY.
The next National Convention is scheduled to coincide
with the International Sign Association Expo in Las
Vegas, Nevada in April.
