Sign
Biz
Advisory
Board
met
in
Denver,
CO
this
month
to
prepare
for
the
most
ambitious
series
of
workshops
ever
presented
at
a
Sign
Biz
National
Convention.
Present
were
Fred
Barbaria,
Paul
&
Janice
Glaab,
Jon
Hoffman,
Bob
Kuhlmann,
Linda
Levitan
&
Michael
Quigley,
Audrey
Maschino,
Bill
&
Fran
Potts,
Steve
&
Diana
Scalph,
Paul
Strauch,
Keith
Willis,
Peter
&
Carolyn
Wolf,
and
Sign
Biz
President,
Teresa
M.
Young.
The meeting commenced at 8:45 AM on Saturday,
September 28, 2002. Teresa Young opened the meeting with an
official welcome to the new 2003-2004 Advisory Board Members:
Steve & Cheryl Dunn will take the seat for the Western
Region previously held by Dennis Anderson who is now retired;
Paul & Janice Glaab will replace Jon Hoffman for the new
term representing the Western Region; Bob Kuhlmann now holds the
Advisory Board seat for the Mid South Region and replaces Sue
Callinan; Paul and Barb Muenzen will represent the Northeast
Region in the position formerly held by Gloria & Dan
McDavitt, and Keith Willis was also ratified to sit as an AB
Member for the Northeast Region, sharing the position with Clyde
& Alice Willis. Teresa Young gratefully acknowledged
Immediate Past Board Members for their meaningful contributions
to the Sign Biz Advisory Board and the Network.
After
finalizing
and
approving
by
vote
the
venue
(to
be
the
Monte
Carlo
Resort
&
Casino)
the
Advisory
Board
established
the
"Walk
the
Floor
with
a
Mentor"
addition
to
the
proposed
agenda.
The
Advisory
Board
next
discussed
at
length
a
selection
of
more
than
30
proposed
workshops
were
finalized
for
presentation
to
the
Network
for
final
votes.
It
was
agreed
that
some
workshop
moderators
may
be
"professionals"
from
outside
the
network,
provided
that
the
content
is
generic
and
not
a
"sales"
presentation
for
a
specific
company's
product.
It
was
suggested
that
the
entire
agenda
be
finalized
at
least
a
month
in
advance
of
the
convention.
Convention sponsors were discussed and a list
of six was generated for Gold, Silver and Bronze level
contributions.
Committee
assignments
were
ratified
and
each
chair
presented
a
report
and
timeline
for
convention
preparations.
The
meeting
next
resumed
with
Beta
Test
reports,
and
other
confidential
Sign
Biz
Network
business.
The
next
Advisory
Board
meeting
was
scheduled,
to
take
place
at
the
Sign
Biz
Reunion
in
Las
Vegas,
on
Saturday,
April
5th,
from
4:30
PM
to
5:15
PM
(prior
to
Cocktail
Party).
The
meeting
was
formally
adjourned
at
5:15
PM
on
9/28/02
