AGREEMENT WITH ENCAD, INC. - A KODAK COMPANY
New VinylJet Printer Offers Sign Biz Network A Banner Solution

ENCAD
Inc.,
recently
acquired
by
Kodak,
may
have
a
solution
to
laborious
banner
preparation,
the
VinylJet
36.
Sign
Biz
has
recently
become
an
authorized
reseller
of
the
Encad
VinylJet
AquaVinyl
printer.
The
VinylJet
36
with
its
affordable
price,
convenience
and
total
application
cost,
as
well
as
a
reduction
of
labor
to
complete
applications
may
dethrone
the
vinyl
cutter
as
the
leading
technology
in
the
manufacturing
of
vinyl
banners.
The VinylJet uses a new ink technology called AquaVinyl (AVT), which is a
process that consists of heating non-coated vinyl, applying pigmented ink to the
heated vinyl and curing with an infrared system. The key here is that the ink is
water based, not solvent based, and so does not require venting of any sort.
Although water based, the AquaVinyl Technology produces images (and text) that
are UV-durable and water resistant for 3 years without lamination.
Paul Strauch, VP Marketing for Sign Biz Inc. formulated an agreement with
Encad to provide this equipment to the Sign Biz chain of sign companies
nationwide at a special price. After extensive review of the product and
processes by its East coast technical facility, and executing a 50-page
agreement, Sign Biz Inc is launching its introduction of the product with a
review in the July issue of the company's technical newsletter, the ReadMe.file.
