Dana

(February
2,
2005)
-
The
International
Sign
Association
(ISA)
Board
of
Directors
convened
their
first
meeting
of
the
year
on
January
29,
2005,
and
presented
one
nomination
for
the
Executive
Committee,
for
a
term
that
commences
January,
2006.
The
nominee
is
Teresa
M.
Young,
President
and
CEO
of
the
Sign
Biz
Corporation,
who
has
represented
the
Digital
Sign
&
Graphics
Division
on
ISA's
Board
of
Directors
since
January
of
2002.
The
board
will
meet
on
April
3rd
in
Las
Vegas
and
vote
on
the
current
nomination.
At
present,
there
are
no
other
nominations
before
the
board
for
the
office
of
Secty/Treasure.
The
total
term
commitment
on
the
Executive
Committee
is
four
years.
After
the
first
year
as
Secty/Treasure,
the
position
moves
to
Vice-Chair
for
a
year,
then
to
Chair
of
ISA's
Board
of
Directors.
The
fourth
year
of
the
term
is
served
as
Past
Chairperson.
If
Young
is
elected
in
April,
her
term
marks
the
first
time
in
ISA's
60-year-history
that
a
woman
sat
on
the
Executive
Committee.
Women
outnumber
men
139
million
to
133
million
in
the
U.S.
"The
technologies
they
create
are
shaping
our
homes,
workplaces,
media
and
worldview.
The
sign
industry
has
benefited
tremendously
from
women
in
leadership
roles,"
explains
Young.
"I
have
been
active
with
ISA
since
the
early
90's,
commencing
with
Bill
Deal's
term
as
president
of
NESA.
Since
then,
I
have
been
impressed
with
the
revisioning
process
the
Association
has
undertaken,
and
believe
that
this
has
given
ISA
more
efficacy
to
champion
the
sign
industry.
Specifically,
the
demand
for
our
government
relations
efforts,
and
our
opportunities
for
partnership
as
we
expand
our
education
and
certification
programs
is
a
gratifying
confirmation
of
the
impact
ISA
has
had
in
the
lives
and
careers
of
our
members."
"Thanks
to
the
hard
work
of
our
founders
and
previous
boards,
and
the
new
ISA
President,
Lori
Anderson,
we
have
a
solid
foundation
on
which
to
build
as
ISA
becomes
the
most
powerful
voice
for
all
segments
of
this
incredible
industry.
Women
continue
to
make
significant
contributions
to
the
sign
industry
around
the
globe,
and
I
am
pleased
to
be
playing
a
role
in
our
industry's
most
supportive
association,"
says
Young.
