Dana Point, CA, December 4, 2011 -- Sign Biz, Inc. (SBI) has hired two new faculty members, bringing its total number of sign business trainers to seven.
Accepting Sign Technology Instructor positions at SBI are Omar Aziz and Kirk Bishopp. Bishopp was a member of the Sign Biz tech support team seven years ago, operating the east coast office.
STRONG INDUSTRY BACKGROUNDS
The fields of expertise of this impressive duo include wide-format printing, application software, RIPs, lamination, color theory, ICC profiling and workflow. Multiple technology and print platform experience including aqueous, solvent and UV printers and RIP programs such as Flexi, Onyx, EFI and others make these trainers a great fit for SBI, which teaches new sign industry owners and their employees how to operate the business and consult to clients.
"These instructors are tremendously impressive both as teachers and as consultants," said Teresa M. Young, president of the corporation. "And they further cement our position as the top education institution for new business owners in the sign industry."
Best Student to Instructor Ratios - The addition of these faculty members means that when the new entrepreneurs come for training in California in January, the student-teacher ratio will be about 2 to 1, which is easily the best in the country. Young said several months ago on her influential blog that SBI’s new business owner curriculum would be unbeaten in terms of education and vocational impact.
OMAR AZIZ
Omar Aziz, nickname “Oh,” was most recently Operations Advisor for Sign*A*Rama locations throughout Southern California, providing business development support and financial reviews. He provided a wide range of training services to the franchise business owners ranging from graphic design and equipment maintenance, to sales and marketing strategies and vendor relations. His role at Sign Biz Inc will capitalize on his knowledge of sign manufacturing and workflow systems, including quality control. Omar brings additional depth of experience in ADA signage, having worked for the well-known H.Toji & Co. on contracted sign projects. He is currently completing a Computer Information Management degree.
KIRK BISHOPP
Kirk Bishopp’s skill in print products, and ICC profiles began in 1998 after his time serving in the US Navy as Maintenance Technician for the Underwater Fire Control MK-116. The testing, alignment, calibration and repair of complex sonar and fire control systems became the foundation for the technical work he now performs within the sign industry.
Bishopp began working for SBI in 2002 as a Digital Printing Specialist and Trainer offering technical support to the chain’s shop owners coast to coast. He spent two-and-a-half years operating the East Coast Support Center before moving to Arizona, where he became a Sales Trainer and Product Manager for a large format printer manufacturer.
Bishopp’s extensive knowledge of color management, RIP workflow and printer technologies made him a natural fit for the Sign Technology curriculum at SBI, for the courses that each new business owner attends before they open their new business. He is completing his degree in computer programming and resides in Dana Point, CA.
