The award was presented to company owners, Richard Weaver and Elvis Campos at the chamber’s Annual Awards Ceremony held December 1st at Walt Disney World.

Signtek Awarded Don Quijote Honor“This honor shows the value of networking and participating in community organizations,” explained Campos. “Being an active member of organizations like the Hispanic Chamber, the International Chamber and the Seminole County Chamber has not only been good for our business, but has given our employees a sense of doing something good for the community. We are very honored to have received this award.”

The Hispanic Business Initiative Fund of Greater Orlando (HBIF) and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando collaborated on the 10th Annual Don Quijote Awards Gala which was held at the Walt Disney World Show Place Pavilion Dec. 1st 2007. The event took place last Saturday at Disney’s Contemporary Resort with a record-breaking attendance of over 1,000 guests, including members of Central Florida's Hispanic business community, elected officials and other civic leaders.

Signtek was founded in 2006 by Elvis Campos who is from Guatemala and Richard Weaver who was born in Spain, but grew up in Argentina. The two entrepreneurs met back in Los Angeles and decided to move to Florida due to the high cost of housing in California and a better living environment for their families. They both had worked together in printing and loved the idea of opening a business with their experience in the industry. They found the Sign Biz Corporation for all of the backbone support services for entrepreneurs, and settled in a location in Sanford, Florida and they have seeing tremendous growth since there arrival to Central Florida.

The selection process of the award was based on nominees’ community involvement, financial growth, leadership, innovation and contributions to their industries. This year’s selection committee reviewed more than 130 nominations.
