Teresa is one of less than a
handful of sign chain leaders with more than 20 years of industry
involvement that includes front line experience as a sign store owner
for six of those years. She is committed to the growth and development
of the Sign Biz Network and dedicated to each member's success. She has also
developed a complete
education program and training center for sign industry professionals, and established a national
missing children's initiative utilizing digital services provided by her
chain of sign companies, the Miles of Hope project.
"My
corporation has worked with more than 300 new entrepreneurs over the
past 20 years to establish full-service retail sign stores. In this
process, we developed a business plan to secure SBA financing of minimum
$120,000 for each of these enterprises, and with our business plan and
consulting services, have achieved 99.95% success rate. This means we
have obtained more than $19,000,000 worth of SBA funding for new
business start-ups," explains Young.
An instructor for many years,
through the early-1980’s Teresa presented a series of workshops to
groups of 20 to 50 business owners, and now assists other trainers
throughout the industry in developing relevant and effective curriculums. "In addition, I developed a Business Plan
Mini Tutorial that is offered free on our corporate website. I invite
you to browse it here."
She
is listed in US Registry’s Who’s Who Among Outstanding Americans and
has been featured in and contributed to such publications as:
Entrepreneurial Woman (Jan/Fed 1991), Business Start-Ups Magazine, Sign
Business Magazine, and Signs of the Times Magazine. Her company, Sign
Biz, Inc., is referenced extensively in Small Business Profiles,
(Suzanne M. Bourgoin, Editor) a book published by Gale Research
Publications (1994) and found in the reference section of most public
libraries. A reprint of a published interview with Teresa Young provides
an up close and personal look at her views on entrepreneurship, family,
work and ethics. Click here for Spotlight

Teresa
works closely with her staff to assess each new
store owner's business development progress. She also works closely with the Sign Biz
Advisory Board to create exceptional national conventions each year.
